We aim to maintain an open line of communication
with the referring doctor/healthcare
professional and thereby provide a comprehensive
service to the patient with minimal stress.
We have found this particularly important
with patients suffering from eating disorders
where a united message is essential.
Our Individual Dietetic and Nutritional
Counselling Practice
Patients referred are assessed and expert
advice provided on a range of medical
conditions and health concerns requiring
nutritional intervention.
Infants and Children

habits, suspected inadequate nutrient

(e.g. iron deficiency), poor or slow

Our referral procedure
In accordance with our professional
code of practice we operate on a referral
system.
Simply print, complete and fax a referral
form to The Food Clinic. Your patient
will be contacted to arrange an appointment.
Some referrals may require a doctor’s
signature.
You may also wish to telephone us to
discuss the referral where the case is
complicated. All referrals will be initially
dealt with by Karen
Wright.
What you can expect from The Food Clinic
- All patients will be offered an appointment
within two working days of receipt
of a referral if required.
- All patients will receive a full
dietetic assessment and be provided
with advice, targets and goals for
treatment at the first consultation.
A review appointment will be setif
necessary.
- A full report and dietetic assessment
will be sent to the referring doctor
within 7 working days of the dietetic
consultation. (If a report is required
more urgently please state this on
the referral).
- Patients are prioritised.
- All enquiries will receive prompt
attention.
